{"id":20,"date":"2023-01-17T10:03:07","date_gmt":"2023-01-17T09:03:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/websites.fraunhofer.de\/qnc\/?page_id=20"},"modified":"2025-01-21T14:31:44","modified_gmt":"2025-01-21T13:31:44","slug":"ueber-die-fmd","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.module-qnc.de\/en\/ueber-die-fmd\/","title":{"rendered":"About FMD"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-f55032f5-51ee-45d7-8c17-e1705153e787\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forschungsfabrik-mikroelektronik.de\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Research Fab Microelectronics Germany (FMD)<\/a> , a cooperation between the Fraunhofer Group for Microelectronics and the Leibniz Institutes FBH and IHP, is the central point of contact for all issues relating to microelectronics and nanoelectronics in Germany and Europe. As a one-stop store, the FMD has been combining scientifically excellent technologies and system solutions from its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forschungsfabrik-mikroelektronik.de\/de\/ueber-die-fmd\/faq.html#faq_faqitem_407965537-answer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">15 collaborating institutes<\/a> from the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the Leibniz Association into a customer-specific overall offering. Under the virtual umbrella of FMD, the largest association of its kind in Europe has been created, with more than 4,500 employees and a unique diversity of expertise and infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-4ea80cc1-034a-447c-b69a-9b61ec771698\">As a pioneer for cross-location and cross-technology cooperation, the FMD actively tackles the current and future challenges of electronics research and thus ensures the preservation and expansion of Germany's and Europe's technological sovereignty. As a strategic dialog partner, FMD is actively involved in the German and European research agenda and provides important impetus for the development of fundamental innovations for the world of tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-a778c55a-fd39-43bf-abdb-d44f7ab39770\">From 2017 to 2021, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmbf.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federal Ministry of Education and Research<\/a> supported the modernization of the research infrastructure of all 15 participating institutes with funding of 350 million euros.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex
